FOSTER | Workshop

In February I hopped a non-stop flight to LAX, then drove two hours with a van full of girls I’d just met to Pine Mountain Club, California. We spent 36 hours in the mountains with 20 photographers from around the country (and Canada) learning from the amazing Ben Sasso and Benj Haisch, learning from each other.

I’ve never been in a small space with such a big group of talented, warm people in my entire life.

Photographers can be a guarded bunch, proud of their success and not always so willing to share how they accomplished them. But not this group. Whether Ben was showing us his editing workflow during a group session, or Benj was talking about how he makes his marriage a priority in a cluster of two or three, or we, the attendees, talking among ourselves about pricing, or social media, or how to handle tough situations, every moment of this workshop felt like being at camp with 20 new friends that felt like old.

It was exhausting and refreshing at the same time, and I’m so thankful to know this rad bunch.
